Source: Minnesota school to watch for UNH quarterback Max Brosmer
All-CAA New Hampshire quarterback Max Brosmer entered the transfer portal on Friday night, On3 learned.
A source told On3 on Friday night that Minnesota will be a school to watch in the quarterback’s portal recruitment. While it’s too early to name a clearcut leader for Brosmer, the Golden Gophers are “in the cards” a source told On3.
The Gophers rank No. 122 in total offense this season, averaging 304.1 yards per game. Quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis has struggled this season, leading Minnesota to a 5-6 record while throwing just 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
In seven seasons at the Big Ten West school, head coach P.J. Fleck is 49–33 and coming off two consecutive bowl wins. His program has struggled offensively this season and appears to be on the market for a quarterback entering college football’s free agency.
In 36 career games with the Wildcats, Brosmer completed 62% of his passes for 8,713 yards. He had a touchdown-interception ratio of 70 to 25, 12 of which came in 2019. He had another standout season this year, tossing 29 touchdowns and just five interceptions while rushing for five touchdowns.
UNH finished 6-5 this season, failing to make the FCS Playoffs. Brosmer was coached by Rick Santos, who was a three-time Walter Camp All-American during his playing days with the Wildcats.

Unranked coming out of Centenniel (Ga.) High School, Max Brosmer ranked No. 9 in the nation in both passing yards (3,157) and passing TDs (27) in the 2022 season. His veteran experience could make him a name to watch this offseason.
