Mississippi State Bulldogs defensive lineman Jonathan Davis entered the transfer portal.

Davis spent one season with the Bulldogs, during which Mississippi State went 5-7. This was also the program’s first season in the wake of Mike Leach passing away. In his place, former defensive coordinator Zach Arnett became the head coach. However, he was fired during the season after struggling in SEC play.

However, Jonathan Davis did not see the field during the 2023 season, taking a redshirt instead. So, wherever he does go, he’ll offer his new program four years of eligibility.

Jonathan Davis played high school football at Lawrence County (MS), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 518 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Mississippi State added three new defensive linemen in its 2024 class. The Bulldogs have also added two defensive linemen through the transfer portal to this point. So, depth shouldn’t be an issue for Mississippi State on the defensive line.
