Missouri quarterback Jake Garcia intends to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
The Missouri Tigers will be short an offensive player and their upcoming New Year’s Six bowl matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes. On Wednesday, On3’s Pete Nakos revealed that quarterback Jake Garcia intends to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Garcia has become a bit of a journeyman to start out his collegiate career. He initially committed to playing for the Miami Hurricanes out of high school, sticking with the program for one year before deciding to enter the transfer portal following the 2022 season. His sophomore year was spent in Columbus with the Tigers. However, just like at Miami, Garcia did not appear in a single game for Missouri during the 2023 season.
Garcia played high school football at Grayson High in Loganville, GA, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 53 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Garcia was also the nation’s No. 10 ranked quarterback in his class.
