Former Murray State punter Orion Phillips has committed to Missouri, he announced via X on Saturday afternoon. Phillips comes from Sandringham, Australia but will be continuing his college football career in Columbia, MO.

After spending just one season with Murray State, Phillips decided to look over his options. Missouri will be the landing spot and the punter will have plenty of eligibility remaining. Phillips will be with the Tigers for at least the next three seasons.

Phillips played in just nine games during the 2023 season, having 40 punts for a total of 1,714 yards and an average of 42.9 yards. His other statistics are just as impressive, having eight punts go 50 or more yards with the season-long being 71.

Thirteen were fair caught and 12 were dropped inside of the 20-yard line.

Having a great punter can be such a weapon for teams when attempting to flip the field. If Phillips can be that guy for Missouri, he will be considered a great get for Eli Drinkwitz out of the NCAA transfer portal.
