MTSU defensive tackle transfer Marley Cook commits to Miami

MTSU defensive tackle Marley Cook has committed to Miami out of the NCAA transfer portal. On3’s Pete Nakos can confirm the news.

The redshirt junior defensive tackle emerged as a force in the middle for the Blue Raiders in 2023, tallying 22 tackles, 6.0 tackles for a loss, a sack, a forced fumble, a pass breakup and an interception.

He has played in 49 career games and logged 61 tackles, 19.0 tackles for a loss, 10.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, a blocked kick, an interception and three pass breakups. He’ll provide an immediate boost for the Hurricanes on the interior of the defensive line, listed at 6 foot 2, 298 pounds.

Prior to enrolling at MTSU, Cook was a three-star prospect and rated as the No. 2,121 overall player in the nation in the 2019 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

Cook checked in as the No. 145 interior offensive lineman and the No. 56 overall player in the state of Mississippi, hailing from Water Valley (MS) Water Valley.
