Nevada wide receiver Spencer Curtis enters transfer portal

Nevada wide receiver Spencer Curtis has entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer, On3 has learned.
The sixth-year player will have one season of eligibility remaining. The former Weber State and Oregon transfer was primarily used on special teams during his time with the Ducks, appearing in 12 games. In his two seasons at Nevada, the 5-foot-11, 184-pound receiver carved out a role in the passing game.
Curtis was a contributor in 2022 before starting 11 games this past fall. In his two years at Nevada, he tallied 645 receiving yards on 48 catches with one touchdown.
He is the second wide receiver to leave the Wolf Pack this offseason. Jamaal Bell, who transferred to Baylor, is Nevada’s all-time leader in kick return yardage and finished the season with 262 yards and a touchdown.

Curtis will miss out on the chance to play with former Nebraska quarterback Chubba Purdy. Originally committed to San José State out of the portal, he flipped to the Wolf Pack in January. Purdy started his career at Florida State. He spent two seasons there before coming transferring to Nebraska. He made 16 appearances during his time between the two programs five starts.
In total, Purdy has completed 85-162 (52.5%) of his throws overall with the Seminoles and Cornhuskers. Those led to 846 yards, six touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also rushed 53 times for 253 yards and three scores.
“We’ve got a couple other pretty talented quarterbacks in that room, too,” Nevada head coach Jeff Choate said in January. “And part of the objective and building depth in your roster is to create competition because the cream is going to rise.”
Spencer Curtis is now on the market, looking for a final school to finish his college career.
