Former North Carolina Tar Heels wide receiver Andre Greene Jr. has decided to take his talents to the Virginia Cavaliers via the NCAA Transfer Portal, he announced on social media Friday afternoon.

“Coming Home!” Greene Jr. wrote, accompanying a graphic on X, formerly known as Twitter, as he made his decision.

When Greene originally entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, he wrote a heartfelt letter to the Tar Heels, as it’s evident North Carolina made a gigantic impact on him.

“Tar Heel Family, First and Foremost, I want to thank God for the many blessings he has granted me!” Greene wrote. “To Coach Brown and Coach Galloway, thank you for giving me the opportunity to play at this amazing University.  I am forever grateful. To the coaching, athletic training, and academic staff, thank you for your endless support and dedication. Because of you, I am stronger both mentally and physically.

To my teammates, thank you for pushing me, challenging me, and inspiring me to be better each day. I love y’all and I will forever cherish the memories we shared. To my family, your support is what drives me to want to become the best version of myself.  Thank you, I love y’all. ‘Carolina isn’t just a place you go, it’s a place you take with you!’ With that being said, after much prayer and reflection, I have decided to enter the transfer portal. God, I have no idea where you are taking me, but I trust you!”

Alas, Andre Greene Jr. will now look to bring success to the Cavaliers, as he enters a new era of his collegiate career with Virginia.
