North Texas guard Jason Edwards plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
North Texas guard Jason Edwards plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello. He was a first-team all-conference honoree this season.
Edwards has a prolific scoring knack, averaging 19.1 points per game and scoring north of 30 multiple times in his first season playing Division I basketball. He transferred to North Texas from junior college, and quickly moved into a starring role. He’s also an adept rebounder, pulling down more than two a game from the guard spot.
He played in 34 games, starting 22 for the Mean Green. And while Edwards is already and adept scorer, there are some needed refinements to his game. As a ball handler and creator, he can show more playmaking ability while cutting back and limiting turnovers. And while he shoots 49.2% from the field. his 35% from beyond the 3-point line is solid, but a bump up there could vault him into rarer air as a scorer.
Edwards will have multiple years of eligibility remaining.
