Oklahoma State EDGE transfer Trace Ford visiting Oklahoma
Oklahoma State EDGE Trace Ford decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal and look for a new home before the 2022 season. A couple of top-level programs, including Auburn and USC, are taking a look at Ford but now, the Cowboys’ in-state rival has received a visit.
Ford is currently in Norman visiting the Oklahoma Sooners, with a photo of Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium being posted on his Instagram story. Staying within the state would see Ford join forces with the other side of the Bedlam rivalry alongside head coach Brent Venables and defensive coordinator Ted Roof.
Ford is from the Sooner State, coming out of Edmond (OK) Santa Fe High School. However, Oklahoma did not extend an offer during his original recruitment as Ford was a member of the 2019 recruiting class.
According to the On3 transfer portal rankings, Ford is the No. 33 EDGE player to enter the transfer portal this cycle. As for who is available, the former Oklahoma State man moves up the list, coming in at No. 28 for the position.
Oklahoma has had success bringing in new pass rushers this offseason as well. Dasan McCullough, the highest-ranked EDGE in the On3 transfer portal rankings, will be in Norman next season via Indiana.
