Oklahoma transfer RB Marcus Major commits to Minnesota
Oklahoma transfer running back Marcus Major found his new home in the portal on Sunday evening. He committed to the Minnesota Golden Gophers and made the announcement on his Twitter page.
In his college football career thus far, Major has rushed for 833 yards and 10 total touchdowns. In 2023, he played in seven games, making four starts. Those starts came against SMU, Cincinnati, Iowa State, and Texas. He missed the last five games of the regular season.
In 2022, he played in nine of 13 games for the Sooners, finishing with 227 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 56 carries. As a receiver, he hauled in 61 receiving yards and a touchdown on eight catches.
Major was rated as the No. 304 overall recruit, No. 26 running back and No. 3 running back in the 2019 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He had a prolific high school career, rushing for over 2,000 yards and 35 rushing touchdowns. When he chose the Sooners, he chose them over Arkansas, USC, Texas, and others.
