On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine favors Oregon for transfer Jermaine Couisnard
I placed my expert pick into On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) yesterday for Jermaine Couisnard to commit to Oregon. This forecast gave the Ducks a commanding lead, with a 93.9-percent chance of landing the four-star guard. Ohio State holds a 3.3-percent opportunity, and it puts Maryland at 2.8-percent.
Jermaine Couisnard told On3’s Joe Tipton that he would be committing this afternoon (Thursday) at three. His final seven schools were Ohio State, Oregon, Maryland, DePaul, Houston, UMass, and Gonzaga.
Couisnard took official visits to Maryland, Oregon, and Ohio State. He canceled his visit to Gonzaga.
The scoop
The University of South Carolina parted ways with head coach Frank Martin on March 14, and by the following week, the Gamecock’s leading scorer was in the portal. High major programs from around the country immediately reached out to Jermaine Couisnard.
Ohio State was a program to watch early. Couisnard took an official visit there and enjoyed his time. However, Ohio State was involved with other prospects. They took a commitment from another guard before Couisnard was done with visits, so that dropped them out.
Couisnard set a visit to Gonzaga, which he ended up canceling. He also visited Maryland, a program that piqued his interest enough to visit. However, there was no real tie to the school.
That leaves us with Oregon. The Nike pull in the era of NIL will always have Oregon in the conversation. But, in this case, Oregon also hired Chuck Martin this off-season. Martin was the coach of record who recruited Couisnard to South Carolina. The NIL situation, the program’s tradition, and the familiarity with Martin created a perfect storm for Oregon in this recruitment.

What is On3s Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM)?
We are proud to release the first version of the Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.
When we created the Crystal Ball about 10 years ago, we knew we had developed a product that would forever change the industry. While the Crystal Ball has been an incredible tool for fans, coaches and media, it was time to build the next evolution. After ten years of research and progress by our team, that is exactly what we have done.
We started from the ground up and built an entirely new product that utilizes data, human expertise and machine learning.
