Oral Roberts guard Issac McBride enters NCAA transfer portal

An elite scorer has hit the NCAA transfer portal, with Oral Roberts guard Issac McBride opting to search for a new school, On3 has learned.
McBride was a senior who averaged a career-high 19.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists for the Golden Eagles during the 2023-24 season. He spent the last three years at Oral Roberts.
Prior to his time at Oral Roberts, McBride had signed and enrolled with Kansas before getting out and transferring to Vanderbilt before ever playing in a game. He obtained a waiver to play immediately from the NCAA and spent one season at Vanderbilt, where he played for former Commodores coach Jerry Stackhouse.
Issac McBride averaged just 4.7 points per game in his freshman season there, averaging 12.4 minutes per contest. He started just two of the 21 games he appeared in and opted to seek greener pastures following the season.

He then headed to Oral Roberts, where he very quickly established himself as a key presence.
McBride averaged 12.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore, seeing his minutes tick up to 23.2 per game. He’d continue to increase his minutes over the course of his career with the Golden Eagles.
As a junior, he averaged 31.0 minutes and chipped in 11.8 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest. His assist numbers began to increase considerably too, with an average of 2.6 per game as a junior. That increased to 3.1 as a senior this season.
During his career, Issac McBride is a 40.4% career 3-point shooter, while he shoots 45.2% from the floor.
