Seven McGee announces intention to enter the portal, releases statement
Earlier on Monday, On3’s Matt Zenitz reported Oregon Ducks wide receiver Seven McGee intended on entering the transfer portal. He is no longer with the team, not playing in Saturday’s win over the Cal Golden Bears.
McGee has now officially announced his intention of entering the transfer portal, releasing a statement. The wide receiver is focused on the next stage of his career, hoping to find a new home for more playing time after just two seasons with Oregon.

“Seven McGee is officially in the transfer portal,” McGee’s agent, Rob Wilson, said in a statement released via Twitter. “McGee is grateful for the time he spent as an Oregon Duck and will forever be appreciative of the family he built at the University of Oregon. With his sights set on the future, Seven is ready to enter the next chapter of his career.”
McGee will be able to enter the transfer portal officially in December, just days after conference championship weekend. Considered a former top recruiter, there should be plenty of suitors for him.

When McGee arrived on campus, Mario Cristobal was the head coach and he was considered a running back. He eventually switched over to wide receiver and has a brand new leader in the program with Dan Lanning. McGee had caught 11 passes for 67 yards this season.
The On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting services, ranked McGee a four-star prospect coming out of high school. He was No. 175 on the national scale and the top player from his home state of New York.
McGee was a long-time Oregon commit but top programs across the country, such as Nebraska, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and USC offered the former running back.
