Oregon State tight end Jack Velling enters NCAA transfer portal

Oregon State tight end Jack Velling has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Velling enters the portal after just two seasons with the Beavers, breaking out in 2022 with 29 receptions, 438 yards, and eight touchdowns. His eight touchdown receptions set a new program record for the position and tied TCU‘s Jared Wiley for the most touchdown receptions by a tight end for the 2023 season.

He took home Second-Team All-Pac-12 honors following the regular season and was named a Freshman All-American Honorable Mention by College Football News after hauling in 16 catches for 281 yards and two touchdowns in his true freshman season with Oregon State.

Velling played high school football at Seattle (WA) Seattle Prep School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 813 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
