Pittsburgh transfer Federiko Federiko commits to Texas Tech

Pittsburgh center Federiko Federiko has committed to Texas Tech out of the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Federiko is a 6-foot-11 junior who averaged 6.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per contest in 2023-24. He has started 53 games in 68 appearances over the last two years.

The talented center recorded just one double-double in his junior season, not able to stack many games with double-digit scoring or double-digit rebounding. Federiko had two games in double-figure scoring, while recording two games with at least 10 rebounds.

Federiko will need to work on his free-throw shooting, as it was a major liability last season. He finished just 41.3% from the charity stripe.

But the overall shooting figures for Federiko are perfectly fine. He averages 65.4% from the floor in his two seasons at Pittsburgh.

Regardless, it’s a quality addition for Texas Tech and coach Grant McCasland.
