Princeton OT transfer Jalen Travis commits to Iowa State
Jalen Travis, an offensive tackle from out of Princeton, has committed to Iowa State through the transfer portal.
Travis shared the announcement that he’d be becoming a Cyclone with a post on social media on Thursday.
“Than you God for the opportunity to pursue my dreams and the courage to stand in your light,” Travis wrote. “Princeton – you have show me the possibility that lies behind hard work and devotion in both the classroom and on the field. For that, I will forever wear my stripes proud.”
“To my family…These last four years have not been easy but you’ve been by my side for every step of the way. So I hope you are ready to do it one last time,” wrote Travis. “Cyclone Nation – here we come!”
Travis spent the last four seasons with the Tigers and played for the last three on the offensive line after his freshman season was cancelled due to the pandemic.
Travis played high school football at De La Salle (MN) where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,757 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as a Top-200 OT and the No. 11 player out of the state of Minnesota.

Travis was one of three Tigers to decided to transfer following the season. He left alongside a pair of linebackers in Ozzie Nicholas and Liam Johnson. Neither of them have committed to a new program to this point.
As for Travis, he is the second addition for the Cyclones out of the portal during this cycle. He joins DE Kenard Snyder (UL-Monroe) to make up the transfer pair for Matt Campbell in Ames heading into next season. They combine to make up the No. 41 class according to On3’s 2024 Team Transfer Portal Rankings. However, the program has, on the flip side, lost 14 players in the portal since the end of the season.
