Texas Tech transfer quarterback Tyler Shough commits to Louisville
Former Texas Tech Red Raiders and Oregon Ducks quarterback Tyler Shough has made his decision on where he will play next season. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Shough will join the 2023 ACC championship game runner up , the Louisville Cardinals, in preparation for the 2024 campaign.
Shough has played for six seasons so far – three as an Oregon Duck and the last three at Texas Tech. In that time, he has thrown for over 4,600 yards, 36 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions on a 63.2% completion over 30 appearances with 20 starts.
That included this season where, in four games, Shough threw for 746 yards, seven touchdowns, and four interceptions on a 60.4% completion percentage.
With current Louisville quarterback Jack Plummer using his final year of eligibility this season, Shough will likely enter the 2024 offseason as the front-runner to land the starting quarterback position.
Shough played high school football at Hamilton (AZ) where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 122 overall recruit in the 2018 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as the No. 12 QB and the top player out of Arizona in the class.
