Ranking the top players that entered the transfer portal on Tuesday

The floodgates opened. Monday was the first day players were able to enter the transfer portal without penalty. As of 9:45 PM EST, over 250 players have submitted their names to the transfer portal since Monday morning. The transfer portal will remain open for 60 days for non-graduate, one-time transfers to enter without penalty.

Graduate transfers have been able to enter the portal without penalty as soon as their season ends. Just over 100 players entered in the last week.

To help navigate things some, here are the top players that entered the transfer portal on Tuesday, March 14.

1. Jameer Nelson, Jr. (Delaware)

Year: Grad transfer
High school: Haverford (PA) The Haverford School

2022-23 stats: 20.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.4 steals

Notes: Jameer Nelson, Jr. is from Haverford, Pennsylvania, and played travel ball with the Philly Pride program on the UAA Next Circuit. Nelson originally committed to George Washington and transferred to Delaware after two years. Nelson was first-team All-CAA and CAA All-Defense this season. He is the son of former NBA guard Jameer Nelson.

2. Khalif Battle (Temple)

Height/weight: 6-5/175
Year: Sophomore
High school: Hillside (NJ) Trenton Catholic

2022-23 stats: 17.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.0 steals, 35.0% 3P

Notes: Khalif Battle is from New Jersey and played travel ball with the Team Final program on Nike’s EYBL Circuit. Battle originally committed to Butler and transferred to Temple after one season. Battle was third-team All-AAC this season. He is the brother of former Syracuse guard Tyus Battle.
