Report: Washington QB Dermaricus Davis plans to enter the transfer portal
Dermaricus Davis, a quarterback signee for Washington in their latest recruiting class, is planning on entering the transfer portal.
Greg Biggins at 247Sports shared the report on a decision to transfer by Davis on Monday afternoon.
Davis played high school football at Etiwanda (CA) where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 266 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as a Top-20 QB in the class and a Top-25 player out of the state of California.
Davis was the lone quarterback commit for the Huskies in their class that finished No. 48 in On3’s 2024 Industry Team Rankings. He was the second-highest recruit of their dozen signees. He was behind only ATH Peyton Waters, a four-star and the No. 260 recruit out of Los Angeles. However, Waters is also reportedly set to eventually hit the portal as well.
That would take the top two signees and two of their four total five-stars off the board. It would leave WR Justice Williams and S Paul Mencke Jr. as the top signees left as part of their class.

This all comes following the coaching change in Seattle from Kalen DeBoer to Jedd Fisch.
If Davis does indeed hit the portal, he would be the latest quarterback to leave the program. However, the Huskies did add Demond Williams Jr., a former Arizona commit to Fisch that was also a four-star in 2024, over the weekend.
