UCLA safety transfer William Nimmo commits to San Diego State
UCLA safety transfer William Nimmo has committed to play for the San Diego State Aztecs, he announced via X on Tuesday night. A good get for newly hired head coach Sean Lewis, snagging a player with Power Five experience.
Nimmo has been around college football for quite some time, just wrapping up his senior season with the Bruins. However, he has been in the sport for five years and should have just one year of eligibility remaining at San Diego State.
Playing in all 12 games this season, Nimmo recorded 21 tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss. He was not able to snag an interception or record a pass defended when dropping into coverage, though. Earning a little more playing time and filling the stat sheet a little more will surely be one of Nimmo’s goals at San Diego State.
Nimmo played high school football at Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 558 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
