Saint Mary's guard Aidan Mahaney enters NCAA transfer portal
Saint Mary‘s guard Aidan Mahaney has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.
The 6-foot-3 guard was a first-team All-WCC selection this season as a sophomore, averaging 13.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.
Mahaney has a considerable amount of experience at a fairly high level of basketball at this point, having starred for the Gaels for the past two seasons. He has started in 60 games while appearing in 69.
He averaged 13.9 points per game as a freshman, too, though his rebounding and assist numbers weren’t as good as they were during his sophomore year. That level of year-over-year improvement will have plenty of teams scouring the portal itching to find out what’s next.
In addition to his all-around contributions, Aidan Mahaney is a pretty quality shooter.
As a freshman he shot 40.0% from 3-point range on 185 total attempts. That figure dipped to 35.5% as a sophomore in 2023-24, but Mahaney still managed to make a whopping 83 3-pointers.
Prior to enrolling at Saint Mary’s, Aidan Mahaney was a three-star prospect and the No. 131 overall recruit in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
He also checked in as the No. 21 point guard in his class and the No. 16 overall player in the state of California, hailing from Moraga (CA) Campolindo.

Duke guard Jeremy Roach enters transfer portal
Duke guard Jeremy Roach plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal and will declare for the 2024 NBA Draft. Roach has spent all four seasons of his collegiate career with the Blue Devils.
This past season, Roach was voted team captain for the second straight year and played in 35 of Duke’s 36 games. He averaged 14.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 46.8% from the field and 42.9% from beyond the arc.
In his four seasons with the Blue Devils, Roach amassed 1,469 points, 314 rebounds and 402 assists. The 6-foot-2 senior owns a career 1.74 assist-turnover ratio, including a 1.95 mark as a sophomore in helping guide Duke to the Final Four.
While at Duke, Roach has boosted the program to an ACC regular season title and Final Four in 2022 and an ACC Tournament title in 2023. Duke fell in the Elite Eight this past season to NC State. In the loss, Roach recorded 13 points, three rebounds and three assists.
