SMU CB Kevaris Hall is intending on entering his name into the transfer portal upon his graduation in the spring.

Hall shared that announcement on his future plans with a graphic on social media on Tuesday morning.

“First, I thank God for allowing me to play the game at a level. I want to thank my family for always supporting me in my accomplishments. I also want to thank SMU and the coaching staff for allowing me to play and become a graduate at such a prestigious university,” wrote Hall. “With that being said, I’m off to my next chapter and will enter the transfer portal in April with two years of eligibility left as a graduate transfer.”

Hall started his collegiate career at Tulane. He spent two seasons with the Green Wave before transferring to join the Mustangs for the last two seasons.

Hall played in about two dozen games overall between the two programs, including a redshirt in his final season at Tulane in 2021. During those appearances, he has posted 18 tackles, four deflections, a sack, and an interception.

Hall played high school football at Red Oak (TX) where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,434 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as a Top-150 CB and a Top-200 player out of the state of Texas.

Hall will eventually join as the 10th loss in the portal for the Mustangs from this past season’s roster. IOL Jacob Waller, DL Dylan Frazier, and DL Daemian Wimberly have already committed to new homes. That leaves six others that currently remain in the portal.

However, on the flip side, SMU has made a dozen transfer additions. They altogether make up the No. 26 class according to On3’s 2024 Team Transfer Portal Rankings. Over half of those are on defense with all 12 of them coming from schools that were in the Power Five.
