Mario Anderson, one of the top running backs in the transfer portal, cut his options down to three a few days ago. Now, as of today, he is offically down to one after making a decision on his next program.

Per Pete Nakos, Anderson shared with On3 that he has committed to Memphis over USC out of the portal. Oklahoma also made his final three but, in the end, he has chosen to be a Tiger next season.

A few days after the window opened, Anderson elected to enter the portal on December 8th. He had all kinds of interest just hours after he put his name in and now, nine days later and after taking some visits, he has locked in on his pick of that group.

Anderson transferred to South Carolina last offseason after four seasons at Newberry in Division II. In his lone season with the the Gamecocks, he ran for 707 yards and three touchdowns on 143 carries as the team’s lead back.

Blake Watson, who just finished his fifth season with the Tigers, just rushed for 1,045 yards, his second time breaking the 1,000-yard mark, and a career-high of 14 scores. That role is one that Anderson could now find himself in as he heads to play for Ryan Silverfield at Memphis.
