Oklahoma RB transfer Tawee Walker commits to Wisconsin
Former Oklahoma running back Tawee Walker has committed to Wisconsin, he announced via social media. He entered the transfer portal Dec. 4, but practiced with the Sooners ahead of the Alamo Bowl and played in the game.
Walker finished second on the Oklahoma roster in rushing behind Gavin Sawchuk, totaling 513 yards and seven touchdowns this season. In the Alamo Bowl, Walker took seven carries for 17 yards as Oklahoma fell to Arizona 38-24.
It was a big leap in his second year with the Sooners, but he decided to take his talents elsewhere.
By landing Tawee Walker’s commitment, Wisconsin once again has a two-headed monster in the backfield. With Braelon Allen off to the NFL Draft, Walker can pair with Chez Mellusi to anchor the Badgers’ running game. Mellusi announced his decision to return earlier this year, giving Luke Fickell a big boost as he enters his second year at the helm.
Wisconsin finished 6-6 during the regular season to secure a spot in the ReliaQuest Bowl against LSU on New Year’s Day.
