TCU cornerback Ronald Lewis has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to a post from his Twitter account that was accompanied by practice footage.

‘Champ’ enters the transfer portal with four seasons of eligibility remaining in his college career after red-shirting last season in his freshmen year with the Horned Frogs. Appearing in just two games and recording one tackled against Nicholls State.

Lewis enters the transfer portal despite TCU’s spring football game kicking off two weekends away on Saturday, April 27. Which was proceeded by an offseason where the Horned Frogs brought in cornerback transfers like Utah transfer JaTravis Broughton, former Old Dominion corner LaMareon James, and and two-year Austin Peay starter Jevon McIver.

Lewis played high school football at Warren Easton High School in New Orleans (LA) where he was a three-star prospect ranked the No. 931 overall recruit and the No. 80 safety in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

TCU transfer portal numbers

Williams represents the 15th TCU player to depart from the program this offseason, with losses like quarterback Chandler Morris and defensive tackle Damonic Williams representing some of the Horned Frogs biggest losses.

But on the flip side, TCU has added 19 players through transfer portal so far this offseason, and given their gains and losses through the portal, the Horned Frogs rank No. 21 on On3’s 2024 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings with an Index Score of 12. A solid rating in the early stages of the spring transfer portal window.
