Temple defensive back Dominick Hill enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Temple defensive back Dominick Hill has entered the Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. He began his career at South Carolina before joining the Owls and is now back on the open market.
Hill played very sparingly as a first and second-year player with the Gamecocks, not registering a single stat as he redshirted his freshman season. However, in year two, Hill did see some run, appearing in four games to record six tackles. Though, even that role wasn’t large enough to please Hill.
So he left Columbia and found a new home northeast with Philly-based Temple, where he immediately caught on as a big contributor to the Owl defense. He appeared in all 12 games last season to make 29 tackles deflect five passes. In 2023, he jumped up to 49 total tackles and deflected four passes. Now, he’ll see if his two seasons in Temple can land him another promising opportunity.
Hill played high school football at Orlando (Fla.) Jones, where he was a three-star recruit in the 2020 class, per the On3 Industry Rankings. He was also rated the No. 650 overall prospect and the No. 113 wide receiver in the class. Of course, he’s now switched to the other side of the ball.
