Former Texas A&M tight end Jake Johnson is rumored to have found his transfer destination. According to a recent report, the former Aggie is likely to follow his former quarterback and brother, Max Johnson, and commit to playing for Mack Brown and the North Carolina Tar Heels for the 2024 season.

Jake Johnson played in 17 games over a two season span at Texas A&M. In those two years, he recorded two catches for 25 catches, 237 yards, and four touchdowns. A big-time highlight of his 2023 season with the Aggies was catching his first career touchdown pass from his brother Max Johnson in Texas A&M’s contest against Auburn in September.

As a recruit, he was the No. 74 overall prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranked as the nation’s No. 1 tight end and the No. 7 recruit in Georgia.
