Texas State QB Malik Hornsby enters the NCAA Transfer Portal
Texas State quarterback Malik Hornsby has entered the transfer portal. Before transferring to Texas State, Hornsby spent three seasons at Arkansas.
Hornsby only spent one season with the Bobcats, tallying seven appearances. Hornsby completed 8-of-his-15 pass attempts this season for 83 yards. He did not throw a touchdown but he did record an interception.
Hornsby was more efficient in the ground game at Texas State, amassing 35 carries for 229 yards and six touchdowns. Hornsby averaged 6.5 yards per rushing attempt. He also caught one pass for the Bobcats in the 2023 campaign.
In three years at Arkansas, Hornsby played in 16 games, including one start against LSU in 2022. He completed 18-of-39 passes for 314 yards and one TD in his Arkansas career.
Malik Hornsby played high school football at Fort Bend Marshall (TX), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 186 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
