Texas Tech edge Steve Linton enters the transfer portal

Texas Tech edge Steve Linton has entered the transfer portal.

Linton just finished his first and only season in Lubbock after after spending his first four years at Syracuse.

In his career, Linton has posted 67 tackles, eight sacks, three forced fumbles, and a deflection. In his one campaign with the Red Raiders, he tied his career-high with 22 tackles, set a career-best in forced fumbles with a pair, and was one shy of his tops in sacks, a number he set the season prior with the Orange, with three.

Linton played high school football at Dublin (GA) where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 791 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was a Top-100 edge in his class as well as a Top-100 player out of Georgia.
