Toledo CB transfer RJ Delancy III commits to Wisconsin

Toledo cornerback transfer RJ Delancy III has committed to Wisconsin, he announced Monday on X.

Delancy III played high school football at Northwestern (FL) High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 925 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

The six-foot, 180-pounder played in 38 games over three seasons at Toledo. In that time, he compiled 62 tackles,, 42 solos, 16 pass deflections and two interceptions. In 2023, Delancy had 28 tackles, including 15 solos, 10 pass deflections and an interception.

He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining to play under head coach Luke Fickell, who led the Badgers to a 7-6 record that resulted in a ReliaQuest Bowl berth, where they loss to the LSU Tigers.

Delancy III joins former Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke in transferring into the program, and will both look to provide a veteran presence as plug-and-play types of players.
