Ranking the top players that entered the transfer portal on Monday

We are one week into the transfer portal opening up. Starting last Monday, non-graduate, one-time transfers were able to enter without penalty. As of 8:30 PM EST on Monday, over 600 players have already submitted their names.

The week prior, things started to warm up a little around the transfer portal as graduate transfers have been able to enter the portal without penalty as soon as their season ends. Just over 100 players entered in that first week.

2023 On3 Transfer Portal Rankings

We are about to enter the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament. The NIT and the CBI post-season tournaments are also still playing. As teams continue to lose, more names will go into the transfer portal. The window for players to submit their names into the transfer portal will be open for 60 days from March 13.

To help navigate things some, here are the top players that entered the transfer portal on Monday, March 20.

1. SG Demarcus Sharp (Northwestern State)

Year: Grad transfer
High school: Charleston (MO) High School

2022-23 stats: 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.9 steals, 54.7% 3P

As of Monday evening, Damarcus Sharp is the No. 8 player in the On3 2023 Portal Ranking and the No. 3 shooting guard. He was named Southland Player of the Year and first-team Southland All-Defense.

3. PG Keshon Gilbert (UNLV)

As of Monday evening, Keshon Gilbert is the No. 20 player in the 2023 On3 Portal Ranking and the No. 3 point guard.

4. SF Andrew Rohde (St. Thomas)

Year: Freshman
High school: Milwaukee (WI) Brookfield Central

2022-23 stats: 17.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.7 steals, 44.8% FG

As of Monday evening, Andrew Rohde is the No. 25 player in the 2023 On3 Portal Ranking and the No. 6 small forward. He was named Summit League Rookie of the year and first-team All-Summit.

5. CG Jared Bynum (Providence)

High school: Bethesda (MD) Georgetown Prep

2022-23 stats: 10.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists

As of Monday evening, Jared Bynum is the No. 36 player in the 2023 On3 Portal Raking and the No. 6 combo guard. He was second-team ll-Big East in 2021-22 and the Big East Sixth Man of the Year.
