Transfer Portal: The top ten players who entered on Thursday

The college basketball transfer portal opened on Monday, March 18. That started a 45-day window where all men’s college basketball players are able to enter the transfer portal without penalty. It has been a busy couple of weeks, already with over 1,400 players submitting their names so far. Forty-one players entered the portal just today.

Let’s discuss the top ten players who entered the transfer portal on April 4, 2024.

1. G Jaeden Zackery, Boston College

The Buzz: Jaeden Zackery finished No. 6 in the ACC in both assists (4.2) and steals (1.8). He averaged 11.3 points and knocked down 40.5 percent of his threes. The 6-foot-2 guard is a junior and originally from Salem, Wisconsin. He started his career at Chipola College.

2. G Javian McCollum, Oklahoma

The Buzz: Javian McCollum transferred to Oklahoma last portal season after finishing third-team All-MAAC the prior year. McCollum averaged 13.3 points and 3.4 assists for the Sooners this year. The 6-foot-1 guard is a junior who is originally from Fort Myers, Florida. He started his career at Siena. 

3. C Christ Essandoko, St. Joseph’s

The Buzz: Christ Essandoko started 15 of his 25 games played this season. The 7-foot-0 center averaged 8.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks while shooting an even 50.0 percent from the field. Essandoko is a redshirt freshman who is originally from France. 

4. C Cam Corhen, Florida State

The Buzz: Cam Corhen started 12 games this season while playing in 28. The 6-foot-10 post averaged 9.4 points and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 62.9 percent from the field. Corhen is a sophomore who is originally from Texas. 

5. Milos Uzan, Oklahoma

The Buzz: Milos Uzan earned Big 12 All-Freshman honors last season and followed that up by averaging 9.0 points, 4.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per game this year. The 6-foot-4 lead guard is a sophomore and originally from Las Vegas, Nevada.

6. G Tre Donaldson, Auburn

The Buzz: Tre Donaldson started 10 of the 35 games he played this season playing 19.3 minutes. The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 6.7 points and 3.2 assists this season. Donaldson is a sophomore and originally from Tallahassee, Florida.

7. F Baba Miller, Florida State

The Buzz: Baba Miller started 32 of 33 games this season playing 24.8 minutes. The 6-foot-11 forward averaged 7.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game. Miller is a sophomore and he is originally from Spain.

8. F Terrance Williams, Michigan

The Buzz: Terrance Williams has started 57 games for Michigan over the last two seasons. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 12.4 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 39.7 percent from three. Williams is a grad transfer and originally from Clinton, Maryland. 

9. F Casey Jones, Eastern Washington

The Buzz: Casey Jones earned Big Sky All-Defense and second-team All-League honors this season. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 12.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game. Jones is a junior and is originally from Sammamish, Washington. He played his prep school ball at Mount Pleasant (UT) Wasatch Academy.

10. C Mady Sissoko, Michigan State

The Buzz: Mady Sissoko started 59 games over the last two seasons for Michigan State. The 6-foot-9, 235-pound center averaged 3.3 points and 5.1 rebounds this season. Sissoko is a graduate transfer and is originally from Mali. He played his prep basketball at Mount Pleasant (UT) Wasatch Academy.
