Transfer Portal: The top ten players who entered on Wednesday

The college basketball transfer portal opened on Monday, March 18. That started a 45-day window where all men’s college basketball players are able to enter the transfer portal without penalty. It has been a busy couple of weeks, already with over 1,600 players submitting their names so far. Thirty-one players entered the portal just today.

Let’s discuss the top ten players who entered the transfer portal on April 10, 2024.

1. F Kasean Pryor, USF

The Buzz: Kasean Pryor led the American Athletic Conference in Defensive Rating and finished fourth in rebound percentage this season. The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 13.0 points. 7.9 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game. Pryor, a junior, is originally from Illinois and started his college career at Boise State.

2. G Duke Miles, High Point

The Buzz: Duke Miles earned first-team All-Big South honors this season. The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 17.5 points, 3.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. Miles, a junior, is originally from Montgomery, Alabama, and started his college career at Troy.

3. F Dre Davis, Seton Hall

The Buzz: Dre Davis finished top 15 in the Big East in points (554), rebounds (220), and blocks (49) this season. The 6-foot-5 forward averaged 15.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game. Davis, a grad transfer, is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, and started his college career at Louisville

4. G Mike Sharavjamts, San Francisco

The Buzz: Mike Sharavjamts has started 54 of his 66 career games. Last season’s first-team A10 All-Freshman honoree finished top 15 in the West Coast Conference this season in block percentage, steal percentage, assists percentage, and defensive rating this season. The 6-foot-8 guard averaged 7.7 points and shot 36.0 percent from three. Sharavjamts, a sophomore, is originally from Mongolia and he started his college career at Dayton. 

5. G Kario Oquendo, Oregon

The Buzz: Kario Oquendo has started 62 of his 96 career games, including three this season for Oregon. Oquendo is averaging 11.5 points through his three D1 college seasons between Georgia and Oregon. Oquendo, a grad transfer, is originally from Titusville, Florida, and started his college career at Florida Southwestern.

6. F Mason Gillis, Purdue

The Buzz: Mason Gillis earned Sixth Man of the Year honors this season. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 6.5 points and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 46.8 percent from three. Gillis, a grad transfer, is originally from New Castle, Indiana.

7. G Arterio Morris, Kansas

The Buzz: Arterio Morris, a former McDonald’s All-American, did not log any minutes at Kansas this season. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 4.6 points as a freshman at Texas. The sophomore is originally from Dallas, Texas.

8. G Dexter Akanno, Oregon State

The Buzz: Dexter Akanno has started 68 times in his 91 games at Oregon State. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 10.9 points this season. Akanno, a grad transfer, is originally from Valencia, California, and did his final year of prep school at Blairstown Township (NH) Blair Academy.

9. F KeShawn Murphy, Mississippi State

The Buzz: KeShawn Murphy played in 21 games at Mississippi State this season. In 13.3 minutes, the 6-foot-10 forward averaged 4.7 points and 3.1 rebounds. Murphy, a sophomore, is originally from Alabama.

10. F Caleb Lohner, Baylor

The Buzz: Caleb Lohner has played in 69 career games at Baylor. Last season, he played 9.2 minutes and averaged 2.4 points and 2.3 rebounds. Lohner, a senior, is a former four-star recruit out of Mount Pleasant (UT) Wasatch Academy. The 6-foot-8 forward is originally from Dallas, Texas. He started his college career at BYU.
