Transfer Portal: Top players to enter on Day Three

The college basketball transfer portal opened on Monday to start the 45-day window where all men’s college basketball players will be able to enter the transfer portal without penalty. It has been a busy 36 hours with over 500 players submitting their names.

Let’s discuss the top ten players who entered the transfer portal on Wednesday, March 20.

1. C Cliff Omoruyi, Rutgers

The Buzz: Cliff Omoruyi finished third in the Big Ten this season, averaging 2.9 blocks per game. He has twice been named first-team Big Ten All-Defense. Omoruyi is a 6-foot-10 graduate transfer originally from Nigeria. He jumped to No. 3 in On3’s transfer portal rankings.

2. G Devo Davis, Arkansas

The Buzz: Devo Davis has started 85 games over his four years at Arkansas. The 6-foot-4 Arkansas native has averaged 8.5 points in his career and has been named to the SEC All-Defense team as a junior. Davis is a grad transfer.

3. G Sincere Parker, St. Louis

The Buzz: Sincere Parker enters the transfer portal as one of the premier shooters. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Rockford (IL) Rockford East High averaged 15.9 points last season while shooting a staggering 42.6 percent on 3.8 attempts per game. Parker also averaged 15.9 points. He is a junior.

4. G Khalil Brantley, LaSalle

The Buzz: Khalil Brantley led LaSalle in scoring this season at 15.0 per game while finishing No. 5 in the A-10 in assists at 4.2. The 6-foot-2 guard from New York also collected 1.5 steals per game. Brantley is a junior.

5. G Arturo Dean, FIU

The Buzz: Arturo Dean led the country in steals at 3.4 per game. After winning Conference USA Rookie of the Year last season, he earned first-team All-Defense and third-team All-League honors. Dean averaged 13.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists. He is a sophomore.

6. G Tyler Cochran, Toledo

The Buzz: Tyler Cochran earned MAC Defensive Player of the Year honors along with second-team All-League this season. He averaged 14.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.9 steals. Cochran, who is originally from Illinois, started his career at Norther Illinois. He is a grad transfer.

7. F Mawot Mag, Rutgers

The Buzz: Mawot Mag is a 6-foot-7 forward who averaged 9.1 points and 1.2 steals this season. He has started 41 games in his career at Rutgers. Mag is originally from Melbourne, Australia and he prepped at Napa (CA) Prolific Prep. He is a grad transfer.

8. F Joe Charles, Louisiana

The Buzz: Joe Charles earned third-team All-Sun Belt this season after averaging 11.3 points and 9.6 rebounds. On the defensive end, he added 1.8 blocks and 1.1 steals per game. He finished with 11 double-doubles on the season. The 6-foot-7 forward is a junior.

9. C Dishon Jackson, Charlotte

The Buzz: Dishon Jackson averaged 11.4 points and knocked down 54.4 percent of his shots. He is originally from Oakland, California, and started his career at Washington State. Jackson is classified as a sophomore.

10. G Jamiya Neal, Arizona State

The Buzz: Jamiya Neal averaged 11.0 points and 1.1 steals this season. The 6-foot-4 guard has started 32 games in his three years at Arizona State. The junior is originally from Toledo, Ohio.
