Houston offensive lineman Tyler Johnson has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He started his career at Texas before two years with the Cougars.

Johnson spent three years with the Longhorns before initially entering the portal in 2021. That’s when he made his way to Houston, where he spent the last two seasons on the offensive line. In 2022, he earned third team All-American Athletic Conference honors as he made 12 starts, including 10 at right guard. During that span, he allowed just one sack in his 411 opportunities, according to Pro Football Focus.

When the Cougars made the jump to the Big 12 this past year, Johnson was a preseason All-Big 12 selection by Pro Football Focus.

Tyler Johnson played high school football at Oak Ridge (TX) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 68 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
