Miami transfer quarterback Tyler Van Dyke has committed to Wisconsin.

A three-year starter for the Hurricanes, he’s thrown for 7,478 yards and 54 touchdowns. It’s a win for Luke Fickell and staff, too. While the Badgers landed Tanner Mordecai a year ago in the portal, the quarterback position did not pan out perfectly. Former Oklahoma transfer Nick Evers is also still in the quarterback room.

Van Dyke was on campus this past weekend, spending time around Madison. Taking the Miami transfer probably closes the door on Wisconsin landing Toledo quarterback DeQuan Finn, who also visited campus.

The Miami quarterback is now moving to Big Ten country. Arguably Tyler Van Dyke’s best season with the Canes was in 2021, winning ACC Rookie of the Year and throwing for 2,931 yards and 25 touchdowns as a redshirt freshman.
