USC transfer linebacker Tackett Curtis commits to Wisconsin
Former USC linebacker Tackett Curtis has committed to Wisconsin, via the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Curtis only spent one season with the Trojans, making 12 appearances and eight starts. Curtis tallied 40 tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble in his debut campaign.
While Curtis made an immediate impact for the Trojans, his inexperience showed as the season progressed. USC opted to remove Curtis from the starting lineup for the last four games of the regular season. Curtis only saw three snaps in the Trojans’ season finale against UCLA.
Tackett Curtis played high school football at Many High (CA), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 121 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
“Wisconsin was the perfect fit for me and my future,” Curtis said, per Fawcett. “I love the way that they use their LB’s and I could see myself being a dominant player in their defense.
“I want to play in a Defense where I can hunt and find the ball! I feel like Wisconsin is the best place to go do that. I feel like Wisconsin will get the best out of me and I will become the best player I can be there.”
