USC transfer RB Darwin Barlow commits to North Carolina
USC transfer running back Darwin Barlow committed to the North Carolina Tar Heels on Thursday evening. He announced the move on his Twitter page.
Barlow made eight appearances for USC this season, tallying eight carries for 81 yards and a touchdown. Harlow spent two seasons at TCU before joining the Trojans. In five collegiate seasons, Barlow has amassed 993 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 181 carries.
North Carolina finished the 2023 campaign with an 8-5 overall record, including 4-4 in the ACC. In joining the ‘Heels, he’ll join a loaded backfield that features a player that was named second team All-American by multiple media outlets, Omarion Hampton. Hampton shredded opposing defenses to the tune of 1,504 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground this year, cementing his place as one of the best tailbacks in America.
Barlow played high school football at Newton (Texas), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 475 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
