Utah State sophomore and former Idaho player Nigel Burris has entered the transfer portal, according to On3.

Burris had a remarkably efficient freshman campaign in a secondary role for the Vandals as a freshman in 2022-23, averaging eight points and five rebounds while shooting above 40% from 3 en route to winning Big Sky Rookie of the Year.

At USU, though, he averaged just 1.1 points per game in 20 appearances and will now try to find another new home.

As a recruit, Burris hailed from San Jose, California, where he played for Archbishop Mitty. He was a three-star recruit in the On3 Industry Rankings and ranked as the No. 281 overall player in the 2022 class. He was also rated the No. 59 power forward and the No. 29 prospect from California.
