UTEP transfer WR Tyrin Smith commits to Cincinnati
Former UTEP wide receiver Tyrin Smith has committed to Cincinnati, via the NCAA Transfer Portal.
In only four games this season, Smith amassed 19 receptions for 191 yards and a touchdown. Smith began his career at Cisco College. However, after a successful season, he transferred to UTEP. In his first two season at UTEP, Smith tallied 104 receptions for 1,609 yards and 11 touchdowns.
After his junior season, Smith transferred to Texas A&M. Yet, before the season began, Smith returned to UTEP. This time, it appears 5-foot-7 wide receiver will stick with his new environment.
Smith played high school football at Cisco (Texas) Steele, where he was an unranked prospect in the 2020 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Smith is the 15th player to commit to Cincinnati in the transfer portal. He will be joined by standouts such as former four-star Ohio State tight end Joe Royer.
