UTSA RB Rocko Griffin enters NCAA transfer portal
UTSA running back Rocko Griffin entered the NCAA transfer portal, sources told On3. Griffin previously played for Vanderbilt to start his college career.
In four games this season, Griffin ran 17 times for 44 yards. In 12 games for UTSA in 2023, he had 91 carries for 483 yards, six touchdowns and 5.3 yards per carry.
A fifth-year back, Griffin’s college football future is to-be-determined. In total, with Vanderbilt and UTSA, he has 299 carries for 1,222 yards, 11 touchdowns and 4.1 yards per carry.
Griffin also has 23 catches for 90 yards in his career.
As a member of the Class of 2020, Griffin was a three-star recruit out of Savannah (Ga.) South Effingham, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 108 overall prospect in the state, the No. 89 running back in the class and the No. 1,031 overall prospect in the class.

Of course, we can never rule out Griffin returning to Vanderbilt, if the school will have him. But as of now, there are no indications of where Griffin will land to finish his college football career.

FAU sources respond to Ray Lewis report from ESPN
His former school, Vanderbilt, is off to a nice start at 4-2 fresh off an upset win over Alabama and a win over Kentucky.
“I’m grateful for the team I have,” head coach Clark Lea said postgame. “I’m grateful for their competitive spirit. I’m very proud of the fight they’ve shown and the belief they have in one another and we expected to win that game, and they delivered. And so, credit to them.”
Looking at the second half of the season, Ball State is next and then No. 1 Texas comes to town. If Lea and his squad knocked off No. 1 Alabama, who’s to say they can’t do it again?
“You know, we’re not surprised to be here,” Lea said. “We knew it was going to take everything we had. The guys delivered, and we get to celebrate a win on the road, which is always special. You know, for us, this is going to be a chance to celebrate on the bus ride home. We’ll get home late, and pretty quickly thereafter, we’re going to switch our attention to Ball State.
