Villanova transfer TJ Bamba is down to six schools as he searches for his new home.

Bamba will choose between Kentucky, Louisville, Stanford, Florida, Memphis and Oregon, he told On3’s Joe Tipton.

TJ Bamba averaged 10.1 points per game this past season as a senior for the Wildcats.

TJ Bamba entered the transfer portal earlier this week. He is in the transfer portal for the second time as he spent the prior three seasons of his collegiate career with the Washington State Cougars.

The Bronx, New York native played high school basketball at Abraham Lincoln (CO). He did no have a star-rating in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Bamba appeared in 23 games and made four starts during his first season of college basketball at Washington State in 2020-21. He averaged 5.5 points and 1.6 rebounds in 13.7 minutes per game.

As a sophomore in 2021-22, TJ Bamba averaged 7.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

He had his best year statistically as a junior in 2022-23, starting all 31 games while averaging 15.8 points and 3.7 rebounds. He originally entered his name into the NBA draft before withdrawing and transferring to Villanova.

Now TJ Bamba is once again on the move after helping the Wildcats to an 18-16 record in 2023-24. Villanova was 10-10 in conference play last season.

Former Penn PG Tyler Perkins commits to Villanova

In other news, former Penn point guard Tyler Perkins committed to Villanova after he entered the transfer portal back on March 18th.

Perkins played just one season with the Quakers, but was a solid piece to the Ivy League squad. He finished the season with 13.7 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, shot 42.5% from the floor and 34.7% from three-point range.

As a member of the Class of 2023, Perkins was not ranked, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He played his HS basketball out of Bethesda (M.D.) Landon School.

He’ll be looking to make an instant impact with the Wildcats as he moves to the Big East with Villanova.
