Villanova guard Brendan Hausen has entered his name into the transfer portal.

Hausen has spent the past two seasons with the Wildcats under Kyle Neptune. In that time, he has come off the bench for the team to make 66 collegiate appearances.

In those games, Hausen has averaged 4.7 points and 1.1 rebounds while shooting 40.7% from the field and 39.5% from three in 13 minutes per contest.

Hausen’s numbers improved this past season as a sophomore. During his 34 games, he averaged 6.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in nearly 18 minutes per outing. Most of that production came from makes at the three-point line. He made 1.8 threes a game at 38.1% as part of a 39.2% field-goal percentage.

Hausen played high school basketball at Amarillo in Texas. He was a four-star prospect and the No. 73 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He rated as the No. 11 SG in the class and as the No. 7 player out of his state.

Hausen was part of Neptune’s first class as head coach in a group that finished No. 5 in the nation per On3’s 2022 Industry Basketball Team Recruiting Rankings. He came in alongside Cam Whitmore (No. 10 overall, No. 3 SF), a five-star who was a first-round pick by the Houston Rockets in the 2023 NBA Draft, and a fellow four-star in CG Mark Armstrong.

Hausen is now the third departure from the program in this portal cycle. Trey Patterson entered on April 3rd after missing all of last year, which was his fourth with the team, due to injury. Lance Ware then entered on April 5th after transferring in himself for one season with the Wildcats.

To this point, Villanova has yet to make any additions in the portal. They had success in that area last offseason, though, with four transfers that all played 10 minutes or more per game, including TJ Bamba who was their second-leading scorer.
