Virginia Tech safety Antonio Cotman Jr. enters NCAA transfer portal
Virginia Tech safety Antonio Cotman Jr. has entered the NCAA transfer portal. He spent just one season with the Hokies and will have four years of eligibility remaining.
Cotman appeared in three games this past season primarily on special teams as he took a redshirt year. His cousin, Ellis Brooks, is a former Penn State linebacker, so that could potentially be a team to watch as the Nittany Lions offered Cotman out of high school.
As a recruit, Cotman was a three-star prospect out of Life Christian Academy in Colonial Heights, Virginia. He ranked as the No. 689 overall player and No. 63 safety in the 2023 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Cotman committed to Virginia Tech over offers from Penn State, South Carolina, Florida State and others. Those could also be some schools to look out for as he is back on the market.
Antonio Cotman is the 19th Hokies player to enter the transfer portal, and they have also added seven. They currently rank No. 15 in the country according to On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.
