Washington quarterback Austin Mack enters the Transfer Portal
Washington Huskies quarterback Austin Mack has entered the Transfer Portal.
Mack spent one season with the Huskies where he acted as the backup to Heisman Trophy finalist Michael Penix Jr. For Washington as a whole, it was a phenomenal season, which saw the Huskies go unbeaten in the regular season, win the Pac-12, make the College Football Playoff, and win the Sugar Bowl before falling to Michigan in the title game.
Despite that success, Mack didn’t see the field during the season and took a redshirt. So, his next team will be getting a young quarterback with four seasons of eligibility.
Austin Mack played high school football at Folsom (CA), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 219 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Michael Penix Jr. is moving on to the NFL next season. However, the Huskies thought they would have Will Rogers in through the Transfer Portal, but he decided to re-enter the portal when head coach Kalen DeBoer left to become the next head coach at Alabama.
