One of the more coveted prospects in the transfer portal has found a new home. Washington State point guard Myles Rice committed to the Indiana Hoosiers, On3 has learned. The Auburn Tigers also pushed hard for his services in the portal. He was the Cougars’ second-leading scorer this season, stuffing the stat sheet with 14.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists.

Despite being a freshman, this is actually Rice’s third year of college. The Columbia, South Carolina native enrolled at WSU in 2021, deciding the redshirt. The following season, Rice was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and missed the entire year.

In his first year of playing college basketball, Rice earned All-Pac-12 honors, Pac-12 All-Freshman team, and Pac-12 Rookie of the Year.

Rice helped guide the Cougars to one of the best seasons they’ve had since Tony Bennett roamed the sidelines in Pullman (back in 2008. Washington State finished with a 25-10 overall record, including advancing all the way to the Round of 32 in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

WSU defeated Drake in the first round, 66-61. Rice finished with nine points in that game, snapping a cold stretch from three-point range he dealt with during the season. He had missed 25 three-pointers in a row over a nine-game stretch, before finally drilling one in the first half against Drake.
