Vanderbilt transfer WR Will Sheppard commits to Colorado
Vanderbilt transfer wide receiver Will Sheppard has transferred to Colorado.
The grad transfer will be able to immediately play for head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes. In his four years in the SEC, Sheppard emerged as one of the top wide receivers with 2,067 career receiving yards and 21 touchdowns. Even with defenses circling him this season, he averaged 14.6 yards per catch.
Sheppard is now off to Colorado, where he will likely be one of Shedeur Sanders’ top targets. The Buffs have again used the portal to revamp their roster, with Deion Sanders bringing in six offensive linemen since the 30-day window began on Dec. 4.
Protecting Shedeur Sanders was a problem this past season, with the quarterback sacked 52 times in 2023 as his team finished 4-8. With a line now filled with new names, Sheppard will be a top target in the passing game next to Travis Hunter and Jimmy Horn Jr.
A 6-foot-3, 200-pound wideout, Sheppard was considered a top-20 wide receiver available in the portal. He was a three-star recruit coming out of high school.
