Wisconsin linebacker TJ Bollers has entered his name into the transfer portal.

Bollers spent the past three seasons with the Badgers after redshirting his first and lettering the past two. During those trio of years, Bollers appeared in 16 games with most of those taking place in 2022.

Bollers appeared mostly on special teams during his time in Madison. Still, in ’22, he saw action as a reserve. In total, he posted a pair of tackles in their season-opening win against Illinois State.

Bollers played high school football at Clear Creek Amana as a native of Tiffin, Iowa. He was a four-star prospect there as the No. 142 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He rated as the No. 13 EDGE and the No. 2 overall recruit out of Iowa behind only TE Thomas Fidone.

Bollers came to Wisconsin as part of the No. 16 class in the country per On3’s 2021 Industry Ranking Football Team Recruiting Rankings. He was one of seven four-stars in that group and was its second-highest ranked prospect behind only OT Nolan Rucci.

Bollers is now the 18th portal loss for the Badgers during this offseason. He is the fourth of his former class to decide to transfer from the school. A dozen of those previous 17 have since committed to play for new programs.

As for additions, Wisconsin has added a dozen players in the portal. Those 12 make up the No. 12 class in On3’s 2024 Team Transfer Portal Rankings. Seven of those are on the defensive side of the ball with four – Tackett Curtis (USC), Jaheim Thomas (Arkansas), Sebastian Cheeks (North Carolina), and John Pius (William & Mary) – being linebackers.
