Colorado is continuing to beef up its offensive line. The Buffaloes have landed a commitment from UConn transfer Yakiri Walker.

Walker announced his commitment on Twitter Saturday morning. He was the starting center for the Huskies this season. He simply stated: “#WeComing” with a commitment graphic.

Yakiri Walker was ranked as the 16th-best interior offensive lineman in the transfer portal, according to the On3 Industry transfer portal rankings. The Texas native signed with UConn as a three-star recruit in the class of 2021.

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has made it no secret that he wants to improve the Buffaloes offensive line this offseason.

In addition to Walker committing to Colorado, Indiana transfer offensive lineman Kahlil Benson announced on Friday that he is visiting Colorado.

Colorado allowed 56 sacks in 12 games this year, ranking them 132nd out of 133 qualifying teams in that stat category.

The Buffaloes also struggled to get any sort of ground game going, rushing for just 827 yards and 12 touchdowns for the entire 2023 campaign. That ranked them dead last in the country, averaging just over 68 yards per game.
