In related news, the rerelease of Aerosmith's Toys in the Attic will not include the song Big Ten Inch Record. Reports are that it is being deleted because it offends the latte and scones crowd.

Trying to wrap my head around this, so the woke in England are restricting songs to "protect the children" and the anti-woke in Florida are restricting books to "protect the children." I think the only thing clear is that they each have their own agendas....to rile people up.

It's important to note that the 'younger audiences' mentioned in the title of the thread refers to the listeners of a British kids music platform where the average age is five years old. More context: Queen partnered with the platform (Yoto) and agreed to have the song removed from their Greatest Hits collection (on the platform). For those who may not know, one verse in the song goes like this:

“I was just a skinny lad / Never knew no good from bad / But I knew life before I left my nursery / Left alone with big fat Fanny / She was such a naughty nanny / Heap big woman, you made a bad boy out of me.”

Pretty sure if you want your five year old to listen to Fat Bottom Girls there are ways to do it.

love this line

This is just another case of so-called pundits desperately crowbarring a liberal-bashing agenda into any story just so the whining quota is met for the day.
"Conservative" (or whatever the term) could be substituted for "liberal."

I smack my head every time I hear someone take a set of circumstances and fill in the blanks (that overwhelm the facts) to craft something that fits their agenda. RAMASWAMY!!!!!!!

The examples of prior song omissions and substitutions are not exactly the same in large part because of the space limitations of physical media (e.g., ~80 minutes for a CD, and a desire not to push the limit in the early days of the CD format). With streaming music, they can make an “album” as long as they want.
So if a service decides to limit the number of tracks there must be some nefarious motive? You do know that a service pays royalties for each track it uses?

I didn’t say the first part, and I know the second part well. I just said that the prior examples and this one are not exactly the same due to differences with physical media and streaming. That is all.

We don't know why playlists differed in geographic reasons and the Euronews article didn't attribute it to physical limitations.

True for sure the 'whining quota' was the punchline for me

Does anybody else find it ironic that the clickbait was on Fox News and they were defending a song sang by a guy whose lifestyle they despise?

It's whatever gets them to the next commercial.
